Friday Practice

The 2014 Ferrari Challenge at the Sonoma Raceway had a wet start with a late set of storms following the third year of more or less rain-less years that has everyone talking about drought conditions. However the drought was not on anyone's mind Friday. It was pouring. Several brave racers were running the track, trying out tires most likely, as the speeds were cautious. I usually enjoy the Ferrari Challenge on rain weekends as the drivers put on a good show. The rain Friday had the 458 Challenge cars mostly in the garage with just the 2 sessions of, 'Dealer Lapping' and 'Sponsor Hot Lap', cars out in the rain. Ferrari North America is the main Sponsor for the Challenge in the US and each year they put on a real show at Sonoma Raceway, (Mazda Raceway Laguna Seca to follow in a few weeks).

I was a guest at the Ferrari Hostility Suite and enjoyed a wonderful lunch and ambiance that is Ferrari out of the wind blown rain.
