Saturday--Race Day No.1
The Rain had left the area and the sun made it through the thin clouds. The Challenge cars were at full song making up to the washed out Friday practice. Driver Mark McKenzie stepped up to the line during practices and drew the line in sand er mud, and constantly put in the fastest lap times.
Between practices runs the 'Dealer Lapping' and 'Sponsor Hot Lap' cars were out on the track with the extra bonus of having the black Ferrari Enzo return and lead the lapping cars. What a stunning exhibition to watch. And this was a day before Sunday when the local Ferrari Club members arrive in mass for their track tour.
At Race Start, McKenzie left the pack and rounded Turn 2 in front and never looked back. The 458 Challenge cars looks like they are a dream to race. No one seemed to place a tire out of line with passing going into turns, in turns and coming out of turns. And remember these guys actually have day jobs that doesn't necessarily involve racing cars.
