Goodwood Revival 2013
After the 20th Goodwood Festival of Speed, comes the 16th Goodwood Revival. That time of year when the Goodwood race circuit in West Sussex, turns the clock back to a classic time of flat caps and the smell of Castrol R. This really is a celebration of that classic time of racing in the UK.
The year the Whitsun Trophy runs as a special one makes series. The car is the Ford GT40 and its related models. The weekend from the 13th to the 15th of September also sees a celebration of Jim Clarke, one of the worlds greatest drivers who ever lived, with a parade of the very special cars from his career.
Returning this year is the evening race, the Freddie March Memorial Trophy. This is an evening race, running into the dusk of the Friday. This is a race in memory of the Goodwood Nine Hour races of the 1950`s. Also returning is year, is the peddle cars in the Settrington Cup. The kids peddling these little cars down the start finish straight, trying every bit as hard as the racers in the `bigger` cars.
Something that must be mentioned, is the passing of Tony Gaze, who died in July. Tony was one of founding fathers of the Goodwood circuit. He was the man who persuaded Freddie March, the Grandfather of the current Earl of March, to hold a motor-race on the perimeter of the what was RAF Westhampnett. Goodwood and the all of the worlds racing fans owe Tony Gaze a lot.
So enjoy the following images taken over the three days of the Goodwood Revival, one of the worlds greatest classic motor-sport events.

Cars and planes is one of the themes at the Revival
Strong crowds in the paddocks
And at track side
Lovely young ladies at the track
And in the pits
The days of finely sculptured curves on race cars is missed
This! Not so much.
Period costumes are strongly supported and make the Revival very special.
