Some of the extreme and not so extreme vehicles available are the Audi A7, BMW's 6 Series Coupe, Cadillac's XTS, the Dodge Mopar Charger, the 2013 Ford Taurus and Escape, plus the Mustang Boss 302, Hyundai's Veloster, the Jeep JK8 Pickup, the Mini Coupe S, Nissan's Versa, the Scion iQ, Subaru's Impreza, the new Toyota Camry and Volkswagen's Beetle and CC.

Also among the alternative fuel and hybrid vehicles, many of which are new introductions: The BMW Active-E electric, Chevrolet's Volt, Frisker's Karma, Ford's BEV electric, Escape and Fusion Hybrids, Honda's Civic IMA-L Hybrid, Insight and Civic Natural Gas vehicle, the Hyundai Sonata Hybrid, the 2013 Lexus GS 450h and Lexus RXh, Mitsubishi's IMIEV electric car, Nissan's LEAF, Toyota's Camry Hybrid, Highlander Hybrid, Prius and new Prius V.

Also the EV-X11 race car, the E-Kart and E Assist bicycles.

Sponsored by the 100% electric Nissan LEAF, attendees can do the The drive electric tour and drive a LEAF on an indoor course on the show's main floor.

Now in its 54th year, the San Francisco International Auto Show will display vehicles representing 38 manufacturers for the year 2012 and beyond.

Over 400 cars attended the eleventh Concours D' Elegance at Hilton Head Island, South Carolina, 210 at the Saturday Club event and 196 on the Concours Sunday, held November 4th 2012. In addition the Concours features race events at Savahanna, tours of the South Carolina Low Country and various other attractions for people who enjoy the pleasure of the automobile. This year close to thirty thousand such people attended the weekend display of classic vehicles.

The featured car for 2012 was the Model T Ford and the display was outstanding.

A total unique vehicle specially flown in from Milan, Italy for this Concours, A 1931 Alfa Romeo Gran Sports Spider Corsa was awarded People's Choice

From all over the globe, people arrive with their priceless automobiles to compete or simply enjoy the day and all that is the 'event', known as The Pebble Beach Concours d'Elegance.

On the third Sunday in August, golfers give way and the famed eighteenth fairway is transformed as a stage for one of the most competitive events in the automotive world.

2012 is The 62nd Annual Pebble Beach Concours d'Elegance and the stage for the Cars of the Maharajas, Mercer, Fiat, Saoutchik Coachwork, AC and AC Cobra, Sport Customs, and German Motorcycles.

Cars from William A. C. Pettit, III Collection, "Museum of Motoring Memories" in Natural Bridge, Virginia, will be sold at Gooding & Company's Pebble Beach Auction this August during the Monterey automotive week.

The collection includes:

"Blue J," a 1929 Duesenberg Model J Dual-Cowl Phaeton Chassis No. 2292; Engine No. J-27

1928 Rolls-Royce Phantom l Derby Speedster Coachwork by Brewster & Co.

1925 Rolls-Royce Silver Ghost Pall Mall Tourer Coachwork by Merrimac Body Company

1931 Stutz DV-32 Convertible Sedan Coachwork by LeBaron

Proceeds from the sale of the cars from Bill Pettit's collection will go to the Shriners Hospital for Children®.

The car will be auctioned off by Gooding & Company's 2012 Pebble Beach Auctions on Saturday and Sunday, August 18 & 19 at the Pebble Beach Equestrian Center. The full story is available here

The 2012 Pebble Beach Concours d'Elegance will feature:
• Cars of the Maharajas: Rolls-Royce, Daimler, Hispano-Suiza, Maybach, Bugatti, Duesenberg, Minerva and others.
• Mercer: The Mercer Automobile Company of Hamilton, New Jersey, famous high-performance cars of the era.
• Fiat: Special classes, hugely powerful Grand Prix racers, coachbuilt prewar classics, and small postwar cars. Other Special classes will include:
• Saoutchik Coachwork: Jacques Saoutchik (SOW-chick), a coach building company in 1906 in France.
• AC and AC (Shelby) Cobra: .

Concorso Italiano Review 2012

The Concorso Italiano manifests itself as a gathering of all things Italian, but foremost it is a showcase of Italian automobiles. Italian cuisine, fashion, motorcycles, boats, and other aspects of Italian culture can usually be found on display at the Concorso. Exotic and classic automobiles of non-Italian make are also welcomed and usually make up a significant part of the Concorso Italiano.

The City of Belgrade was the site of the 79th year reunion of the Belgrade Grand Prix, that only ran once, in 1939. In September, 2012, people came from all over Europe for the first celebration of this race, which also had the distinction of being the only Grand Prix event to be held during World War II.

The run leaves the Fairmont and travels across the Golden Gate Bridge and through the California Gold Country Hills to Incline Village just over into Nevada at the north end of Lake Tahoe. The route then goes around the Lake Tahoe area and dives back into Nevada stopping at the Reno's National Automotive Museum.

Back in California, heading for the coast, the tour drives through the Northern Central Valley and into the world famous Napa Valley Wine Country. The route moves into the costal hills and ends back at the top of the wine region at Calistoga, for the end of the 4th day. Old Cars. Back roads. Sunshine. California!
