New day! New Place!

Concorso Italiano moves back to the Black Horse Golf Club at Marina in the Monterey Bay Area Concorso Italiano was set under the soft sun with a view of Monterey Bay. Red cars and green grass. (Not including the Lamborghini's, which have a not-of-this-world color pallet.) Beautiful people and a beautiful day.

The Concorso Italiano has been experimenting with different locations over several years and have used the Black Horse Golf Course in the past, 2003 to 2007. This year was the first since 2007, and in my humble opinion was a bit better layout than I remember of 2007. I liked the old days when it was at the Quail Lodge, not because it was at the Quail but because it was all on one large field, which gave it a feeling of oneness. But the Black Horse near the lodge has narrow fairways and terrain always dictates, be it in war or car show layout.

One of the great parts of the Concorso Italiano is the grandstand/stage section, which the fantastic Concorso crew makes great use of. Car shows of all formats are mostly about cars, but cars would not exist without the people and organizations, which create and make them. The Concorso uses the grandstand area to entertain the show attendees with conversation and discussions with car designers about their creations. Oh, there is also a fashion show showing off some of the latest in clothing, all with an Italian bent.

This year the automotive designer, and one of my favorites over many years, was Zagato. The raining Sig. Zagato present at the show was the grandson of the firm's founder and with that there was 3 generations of Zagato designs on the field. Bella.
