The ZeitHaus: Classic Cars and Contemporary Art

In March 2008 the ZeitHaus museum reopened its collection of "Automobile Milestones" in a completely re-designed exhibition which presents classic cars within a contemporary artwork.

The ZeitHaus presents Design ICONS

The Design ICONS, are displayed on pedestals, and take the visitor on a journey through the history of automobile design, from its earliest incarnations, to the streamlined developments of the nineties; and from the influences of Art Nouveau to the effects of the unibody. In this way the milestones of automobile design are elevated to artworks of technical design

FMR Messerschmitt KR 200 1959

Fritz Fend an aeronautical engineer approached Willy Messerschmitt with a proposal for Messerschmitt AG to build a more developed version of the Fend 150, Messerschmitt KR175, which began in February 1953.

In 1956, Messerschmitt was allowed to manufacture aircraft again and lost interest in Fend's microcars.

Messerschmitt sold the Regenburg works to Fend, who, with brake and hub supplier Valentin Knott, formed Fahrzeug- und Maschinenbau GmbH, Regensburg (FMR) to continue production of the KR200 and his other vehicles.
