Cooper built and numbering 8 cars (CM1/59 to CM8/59), but also supplied un-numbered "kits" to be built up privately, at least another 8 cars, and some of them went direct to US customers. Some drivers who raced numbered cars, also built and raced un-numbered "kit-cars", namely Roy Salvadori, Jack Brabham and possibly John Fitch.
