The 2019 Porsche Works Reunion at Corral De Tierra Country Club was again a great success and with support from PCNA it is becoming in my opinion a world class event.

With all the crush that is becoming the 'Marque' of the Monterey Car Week it is a nice escape to find some of the more Quiet gatherings. There are actually 3 things going on on the lawn, a stage area with introductions and displays of special cars being brought up and discussed, the "show area where the judged cars are displayed with good signage to allow one to understand about the car in front of them. This area also has the usual venders setup to provide the Porsche faithful that one thing that they may have been looking for. The third area is a flood of Porsches that are PCA member cars that have pre-reserved a spot in the display area. The selection of cars laid out here is almost more fascinating than the 'Show' section.

I thought one thing was reflective of this event and the Porsche owners was the show organizers brought a reproduction 356 Porsche that was parked out on the lawn with the spectator cars and placed it front and center on the stage area where the owner/driver told the story of the car. This inclusion of a non factory built Porsche into the show is reflective of the shows acceptance of what is called "Outlaw" Porsches.

The Works Reunion is mostly about Owners cars with the Porsche Factory mostly supporting the event with road cars. To become emerged in Porsche Race cars one must attend the Hyper event called the Rennsport Reunion.

We left early to attend some of the other events by slipping over the Laurel Grade Road into the Carmel Valley to seek out food, fast cars to try and Monterey vinted wines.

And yes we were successful.
