The SLR Roadster 722S evokes the historic victory won at the orginal series Mille Miglia long-distance race in 1955 by British motor-racing legend Stirling Moss and his co-driver Dennis Jenkinson, in a Mercedes-Benz 300 SLR with the starting number 722.
The SLR 722S Edition, of the Mercedes-Benz SLR McLaren Roadster, was launched in 2008. The features were weight-optimised components, an uprated engine and a specifically tuned chassis and airbrake to improve the overall dynamics of the car. Individual details, exclusive colour and material combinations create a sportier interior.
The 722S features the original Mercedes-Benz SLR McLaren Roadsters full carbon fibre structure that provides lower weight and high torsional rigidity with excellent vehicle dynamics. The 5.5 litre supercharged AMG engine is placed behind the front axle in a mid-front engine position to improve weight distribution. The 722S, engine produces 650 PS accelerating to 100kph in 3.7 seconds and to a top speed of 335km/h.
The 722S will be limited to a production run of 150 units.
