The FIA GT1 World Championship, FIA GT3 European Championship and the Blancpain Endurance Series came together at the same weekend at the Nürburgring. It was Round 5 of the series in 2012. Overcast, but dry track, the Race was breathtaking. After 3 hours of Racing, the gap of the first three cars were just 18 seconds.

The annual 24h Race at Spa Francorchamps, Belgium was held over July 28th and 29th 2012.
The Race is part of the Blancpain Endurance Series which includes 6 Races in 2012.
The field included Audi R8 LMS, BMW Z4, Ferrari F458 Italia, Lamborghini Gallardo, McLaren MP-4 12C, Mercedes-Benz SLS AMG, Porsche 911 GT3 RSR.
Audi won the Race with the R8 LMS for the second consecutive year.

Ferrari Racing Days convened at the Mazda Raceway, Laguna Seca, California. This excellent program architected by Ferrari involves all Ferrari lovers including fans, Ferrari street cars, and Ferrari racing cars right up through Formula One. The program involves all these factions in one way or another. Ferrari scheduled the weather for bright Monterey sunshine with a cooling breeze to keep swelter away.

The British Touring Car Championship
and the support races, Porsche Carrera Cup, Ginetta GT Supercup, Ginetta Juniors and the Renault Clio Cup moved onto Thruxton for rounds 7,8,9.
The windy, cold Thruxton was its best at Saturday's qualifying and the rain was already coming down, but Andrew Jordan mastered the quick and very wet Thruxton to put his Pirtek Racing Honda Civic on pole.
For race day on Sunday the wind and rain had'nt let up, if anything it had got worse. The thought on most peoples minds was if the races would go ahead. But the races did go ahead and the drivers braved the almost aquatic conditions.

The F1 and the XX cars
were reported to be on track again this year and these cars and their drivers put on a great show. This is one of the few places a fan can get next to some of these cars and see them on the track racing at speed.
Some of the special features of this race weekend: Racing in any weather. Historical important F1 cars at track speed. Cutting edge Ferrari race cars like the 458 Ferrari Challenge, and the 458 GT3, and the broad range of Ferraris on display from the Ferrari Club.

World Endurance Championship, Le Mans 24 Hours, 2012 Final Result
The Audi R18 e-tron quattro of Benoit Treluyer, Andre Lotterer and Marcel Fassler, repeated last yesrs win and indoing so made another first by placing the R18 e-tron quattro as the first hybrid on the podium.
The No. 2- R18 e-tron quattro driven by Tom Kristensen, Allan McNish and Dindo Capello came in second, with the two Audi R18 Ultra finishing third and fifth. Nicolas Prostwas fourth place finisher.
The new experimental DeltaWing went off on the sideline and stuck in the sand. Engineers and mechanics passed tools through the fence and talked to it's pilot Motoyama as he made repairs to allow it to limp back to the pits. Later it succumbed to an alternator failure that eventually took the DeltaWing completely out of the race.
Porsche failed to clinch its 99th class win at the Le Mans 24 Hours after the 2011-spec 911 GT3 RSR, raced by IMSA Performance Matmut team, suffered tire damage while leading the class. The tire damage on the last laps moved the French Porsche customer team of Nicolas Armindo, Raymond Narac and Anthony Pons back to 2nd.

Le Mans is the World Endurance Championship for
Sports prototypes and GT vehicles
The cars are divided into four classes:
LMGTE Pro class: Slightly modified standard sports cars with 440 to 500 hp and a minimum weight of 1,245 kilograms. Example: Porsche 911 GT3 RSR.
LMGTE Am class: Example: LMGTE Pro, but only last year's cars are eligible and there must be no more than one professional driver per vehicle.
LMP1 class: Sports prototypes with up to 550 hp and a minimum weight of 900 kilograms.
LMP2 class: Sports prototypes with around 440 hp and a 900 kilogram minimum weight.

The FIA World Touring Car Championship racing will bring its hard furious fender-banging style racing to American soil for the first time at Sonoma's Infineon Raceway this September 23, 2012
The WTCC, one of the four World Championships ruled by the Fédèration International de l'Automobile, fields the best in touring car racing with models from BMW, Chevrolet, SEAT and Volvo.
