57th Annual International Auto Show
will fill both the north and south halls of Moscone Center with exhibits and spill into the Gateway and Esplanade Ballrooms plus the north and south lobby and driveway areas.
The 57th Annual International Auto Show is a great hit with Families and with parents showing the kids how to pick a car.
I came back on Sunday and the floor was filled but not crowed where it caused any waiting to see any car or feature. Everything was just right. There were very helpful and very informed hosts at each manufactures area and every question I put forth was answered fully and with great detail, even when I strayed off the 'new car' specs and details. I came away with answers to several questions that had been building in my mind all year.
Back in Utah where I grew up in the 1950's, in the dark night skies at the end of the summer, on some random, unannounced night, one would see the old World War II search lights blazing off towards the heavens and the whole city knew the new cars had arrived at the dealership. With the whole family loaded into the car, we were all drawn to the bright lights like moths. However in stead of going up in a puff of smoke like the hapless moths, we, being higher level light seeking creatures, were rewarded with shinny paint and bright chrome. All Great excitement. And certainly part of growing up in the 50's.
Even though the bright search lights in the black sky and the excitement of driving off in search of the source still remains firmly in my mind, the actual rewards were pale when compared with modern-day San Francisco Annual International Auto Show. Here one is confronted with more than 800 vehicles representing the work of 37 manufacturers for the year 2015. Back then we got maybe 4 new models from just one manufacture.
This is the best show in San Francisco and is northern California's premier, largest and most spectacular auto exhibition. At an entrance fee of only ten Bucks each, you cannot get a day of this kind of entertainment any where in California. If you bring a kid under 12, the kid slips in the door FREE!
And you get to look at cars!
The cars assembled all under this one roof runs from exotic race cars from the past and present, show cars, hot rods, vintage cars from the past from Academy of Art University's magnificent collection, and all the new car models from the major dealers in the Bay Area.
Not only are there new cars allover the place there are always a bunch of special car related displays to be entertained with. No charge here either.
For the adult kids there are Ride & Drive opportunities from several manufacturers offering alternative fuel vehicles, and alternative fuel technology display from PG&E.
In all the show will feature more than 800 vehicles representing the work of 37 manufacturers for the year 2015.
Before Noon is the best time to arrive as most everyone shows up after lunch.
