15 Years of Le Mans-Inspired Road Racing at Mazda Raceway Laguna Seca this 2013, May 9-11 and the final season before it joins up with the GRAND-AM race series.

The American Le Mans Series features multiple classes of high-tech sports cars competing simultaneously. The race-within-a-race format provides constant passing, daring moves and excitement as cars of differing speeds race to the checkered flag.

The Le Mans DeltaWing Racing Car will race at Mazda Raceway Laguna Seca in the American Le Mans Monterey race weekend.

This will be the 3rd race for this car. The first was at the French 24hr. Le Mans in 2012 and Petit Le Mans at Road Atlanta in this last October, finishing in 5th place.

Going for a class win in P1, the DeltaWing has some improvements. The car now has an Élan 1.9L, 4-cylinder turbo engine, new tire partner, Bridgestone and is piloted by drivers Andy Meyrick (Cheshire, England) and Olivier Pla (Toulouse, France).

The DeltaWing is a radical design, which has the 2 front wheels set on a very short axel spacing and using lightweight advantage over horsepower, The sharp turns and uphill bits of the Laguna Seca track will provide the designers with one more set of challenges.

Northern California based team Muscle Milk Racing will return to defend their title in the main race, scheduled for Saturday, May 11 at 3:30 p.m.

The main Race is a race-within-a-race format that provides constant passing, daring moves and excitement as cars competing in different classes and of differing speeds race to the checkered flag over four hours. Cars run from daylight into dusk pushing their drivers mental and physical abilities to the limit, in this endurance style race. Top manufactures like Aston Martin, Ferrari, Mazda BMW, Chevrolet, and Porsche will go door to door for the flag.

Mazda MX-5 Cup, Simraceway Formula 3 West Coast Series, Cooper Tires Prototype Lites powered by Mazda and the IMSA GT3 Cup Challenge will run through out the weekend.

Bring the kids! Open race paddock allows access to teams and drivers. Included in admission; autograph sessions, team chats, tech briefings, and the popular pre-race grid walks.
