If your car's headlight beams reach just short of illuminating a potential obstacle in time, you may not be able to swerve and avoid it, or apply the brakes before hitting something unfortunate.

Stock halogens fade quickly and aren't very bright. HID headlights, on the other hand, are up to 3x brighter and can last up to 10x longer than halogens. Even with just the low beams on, HID lights can provide more-than-sufficient on-road lighting in many situations. Full Artical Here....
