Within Goodwood House on the Saturday, is the Bonham's auction which has become an event in itself for those wanting to expand their collection of amazing cars, that may only see daylight at such events: to chose between the lots, with someone else's imaginary cheque book is an impossibility: if pushed, my own favourites:
The Star Lot was the most beautiful 1954 Ferrari 4.9 litre 375 Plus Sports Racing two-seater Comptizione, Coachwork by Carrozzeria Pinin Farina, sold for an amazing £10 753 500 inc. premium.
1902 De Diechtrich 16 hp "Paris-Vienna" Rear-Entrance Tonneau, sold for £998,300 a record for a London to Brighton car.
1968- 1969 Lotus Cosworth 49B ex Graham Hill Formula 1 and Tasman Series Car sold for £673 000 inc premium, was the star lot for me.
